Unlock the secret to tender, flavorful carne asada with our easy marinade recipe. Packed with fresh herbs, spices, and citrus, this marinade is perfect for grilling or cooking your favorite cuts of beef.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of Flank Steak
  • 1/2 C Olive Oil
  • 1/3 C Soy Sauce
  • Juice of 1 Orange
  • Juice of 1 Lime
  • 1/2 C Cilantro, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp Garlic, minced
  • 2 Jalapeño, minced
  • 2 tsp Cumin
  • 2 tsp Garlic Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Clean the flank steak with water and trim excess fat, if desired and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, add olive oil, soy sauce, orange juice, lime juice, chopped cilantro, minces garlic, minced jalapeños, garlic salt, cumin and pepper, stir with a spoon.
  3. Pierce the flank steak multiple times with a fork or a knife on both sides of the meat.
  4. Place meat in marinade for at least two hours, for best results marinade for up to two days prior to cooking.
  5. To cook, you can either cook on the grill (my favorite), or in a cast iron skillet.
  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until 160°F (medium doneness) internal temperature.
  7. Use for filling in your favorite tacos, enchiladas, burritos and ENJOY!
