Ingredients

  • 3/4 C Butter, melted
  • 1 C Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 C Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Egg plus 1 egg yoke
  • 2 1/4 C Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 C Chocolate Chips
  • 111oz bag of Kraft Caramels, unwrapped, melted
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream (for caramels)

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350°F
  2. Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. In a medium sized bowl, melt the butter.
  4. Add sugars and mix with a hand mixer until combined.
  5. Add egg, egg yoke, and vanilla and mix until combined.
  6. Add baking soda, salt and flour and mix until combined.  Batter will be thick.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips until chips are spread out through the dough.
  8. Put half the dough into the prepared pan and press down to cover the bottom of the pan
  9. Unwrap the caramels and place into a microwave safe bowl and add heavy cream and mix to coat the caramel.
  10. Place caramels into the microwave for 30 seconds increments, making sure to take out and stir between each increment until completely melted.
  11. Pour melted caramel into dish evenly.
  12. With the remaining dough, take small pieces and flatten in your hands and place on top of the caramel layer.
  13. Repeat step 12 until all dough has been used and is evenly spread over the top of the caramel.
  14. Place in oven for 20-25 minutes or until it has golden brown edges and is cooked through.
  15. Remove from oven and allow to cool at least 15 minutes before cutting in, then ENJOY every bite!
