Cinnamon Streusel Swirl Butter Pound Cake: A Perfectly Moist and Flavorful Dessert

For the Cake

  • 3 C Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 C Sugar
  • 1 C Butter, softened
  • 4 Eggs, room temperature
  • 2 Tbsp Vanilla

For the Filling

  • 1/2 C flour
  • 1/2 C Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Salt

For the Crumb Topping

  • 3/4 C Flour
  • 1/2 C Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Salt

For the Butter Sauce

  • 1/2 C Butter, melted
  • 1 C Sugar
  • 1/4 C Water
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350°F
  2. Grease a bundt pan with real butter and dust it with flour, then set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, combine all of the filling ingredients and mix together with a fork until butter is evenly distributed.  Set aside.
  4. Do the same for the topping mixture.
  5. In a small bowl sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and set aside.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine butter (softened) and sugar. Mix for 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  7. Add one egg at a time, mixing thoroughly with each addition.
  8. In a separate liquid measuring bowl combine vanilla and buttermilk, mix and set aside.
  9. Add about 1/3 of the flour mixture to the sugar mixture and mix until combined, then half of the buttermilk mixture, alternating until each are gone, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  10. Scoop half the batter in the prepared Bundt pan, then evenly sprinkle the filling mixture, use ALL of the mixture.
  11. Pour the remaining batter over the top of the filling, spreading it evenly.
  12. Top it off with the crumb topping, using all of the topping.
  13. Place in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, checking at the 50 minute mark by inserting a toothpick, when it comes out clean, cake is finished.
  14. Remove from oven and start making the butter sauce.

For the Butter Sauce

  1. In a small sauce pan, over medium heat, melt butter, do not allow it to boil.
  2. Add water and sugar  and cook until sugar is dissolved, about 4 minutes, do not boil.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla.
  4. Evenly pour half of the sauce over the top of the cake and let soak in for 5 minutes.
  5. Place your serving dish upside down on top of the cake and flip over to transfer the cake.
  6. Poke holes in the cake with a tooth pick, pour the remaining butter sauce evenly over the cake and ENJOY!
