- 5 C Flour
- 10 Tbsp Cornstarch
- 1/4 C Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 C butter, very cold
- 1/2 C Crisco Shortening
- 1/2 C Lard
Water Mixture
- 3/4 C Water, ice cold
- 1 tsp White Vinegar
- 1 Large Egg
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon and mix with a whisk.
- Cut fats into small cubes and spread them into the flour.
- Using your clean hands or a pastry cutter, break up fats until they are about “pea” sized lumps.
- Next, in a small bowl mix water, white vinegar and egg with a fork until combined.
- Add water mixture to dry mixture little bits at a time. Mix with hands until combined to form a dough.
- Divide into four equal sections and wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge until you are ready to use.
- When ready, roll out dough in between parchment paper into the desired size for your pie.
- Will make 4 – 9” pie crusts.
