Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 C Flour
  • 10 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/4 C Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 C butter, very cold
  • 1/2 C Crisco Shortening
  • 1/2 C Lard

Water Mixture

  • 3/4 C Water, ice cold
  • 1 tsp White Vinegar
  • 1 Large Egg

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon and mix with a whisk.
  2. Cut fats into small cubes and spread them into the flour.
  3. Using your clean hands or a pastry cutter, break up fats until they are about “pea” sized lumps.
  4. Next, in a small bowl mix water, white vinegar and egg with a fork until combined.
  5. Add water mixture to dry mixture little bits at a time.  Mix with hands until combined to form a dough.
  6. Divide into four equal sections and wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge until you are ready to use.
  7. When ready, roll out dough in between parchment paper into the desired size for your pie.
  8. Will make 4 – 9” pie crusts.
