- Total Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
Scale
For the Cookie Dough
- 1 C Butter, room temperature
- 2 C Sugar
- 1 TBSP Vanilla
- 3 Lg Eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 4 1/2 C Flour
For the Frosting
- 1 C Butter
- 4 oz Cream Cheese
- 3 1/2 C Powdered Sugar
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Instructions
For the Cookie Dough
- Pre-heat oven to 350°F
- In a large mixing bowl cream together room temperature butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla and eggs one at a time, mixing between additions.
- Add salt, baking soda and flour, one cup at a time. Mix until completely combined, dough will be thick.
- Roll dough to 1/2” thick cut into 3” round, I use the opening of a glass cup to cut it.
- Evenly space the dough on a greased cookie sheet.
- Place into the oven for 8-10 minutes. I like the dough slightly undercooked because when you pull them out of the oven they will continue to cook if you leave them on the cookie sheet until the pan cools.
- Place the cookies into the fridge until you are ready to frost them.
Make the Frosting
- In a large mixing bowl cream together butter until light and fluffy about 5 minutes.
- Add the powdered sugar one cup at a time and mix between additions until completely combined.
- Add cold cream cheese, vanilla, and salt and mix until completely combined.
- If desired add 4 drops of red food coloring or any other color you love and mix until uniform in color.
- Frost your cookies and ENJOY every bite!
