- 1 2/3 C Butter, melted
- 1 1/2 C Evaporated Milk
- 1 1/2 C Sugar
- 1 TBSP Vanilla
- 2 Lg Whole Eggs
- 2 Lg Egg Yolks
- 2 1/2 TBSP Cornstarch
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium—low heat.
- Remove from heat after melted and add evaporated milk, vanilla and sugar. Whisk together until combined.
- Sift cornstarch in mixture and whisk thoroughly until there are no lumps.
- Add eggs and egg yolks, one at a time, whisking between additions.
- Return to stovetop and cook over medium heat until it boils.
- After it starts to boil, start a 2 minute timer, continue to whisk until timer is out.
- Remove from heat and pour into a shallow glass pan, cover with plastic wrap, allowing the wrap to touch the surface of the frosting to prevent any sort of film forming on the top.
