Ingredients
Scale
- 6 C Warm water
- 3 TBSP Dry active yeast
- 4 Lg Eggs
- 1 C Butter, softened
- 1 C Sugar
- 1 C Dry milk
- 1 C Potato flakes
- 2 TBSP Salt
- 10–12 C All purpose flour
Instructions
-
- If you have a dough mixer, like a Bosch mixer, use that and follow the same instructions.
- In a large bowl, combine warm water and dry yeast. Let sit for 5 mins until mixture is active.
- Add in butter, eggs, sugar, powdered milk, potato flakes, and salt. Mix well.
- Then, add 5 cups of the flour and mix with a mixing spoon.
- Next, use your hands to complete mixing the dough together.
- After everything is mixed well, continue to add one cup of flour at a time until the mixture
forms dough. It will be slightly sticky. - In a separate large mixing bowl, add about 3-4 TBSP of oil (I use canola oil or whatever is on hand) and coat the mixing bowl.
- Place the dough in the oil coated bowl, cover with a clean towel and let rise for about 25 minutes.
- Punch down the dough and let rise again for the same amount of time.
Notes
- PRO TIP: If water is too cold, it will not activate yeast and if water is too hot it will kill the yeast.
- PRO TIP: I like to let the dough rise three times, to help the dough be softer when it is cooked.Form the dough into whatever you want to cook and ENJOY!
- LIFE CHANGING moment for me is when I got a Bosch mixer to mix my dough instead of using my hands. Takes so much less time and you get a more uniform dough. You can get it here.
