Garlic Mashed Potatoes

These garlic mashed potatoes are delicious, creamy and pairs perfectly with our Parmesan ranch chicken, chicken costoletta or our Mississippi pot roast.

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs Russet Potatoes, peeled, washed and cut into cubes
  • 1/2 C Salted Butter
  • 1 TBSP Garlic Salt
  • 2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 3/4 C Whole Milk

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into 1″ cubes and place in a large pot.
  2. Fill pot with water that just covers the height of the potatoes.
  3. Boil for roughly 15-20 minutes, checking the potatoes with a fork. They are done when a fork easily goes through the potato. Test a couple of them.
  4. Drain the potatoes with a strainer.
  5. Add butter to the pot and pour the drained potatoes back over the top of the butter.
  6. Let the butter melt and then add the milk and seasonings.
  7. Mash with a potato masher or electric mixer to gain a creamy consistency.
  8. Make sure you taste test because you may need to add more salt and pepper to your liking.
  9. Serve as a side to your favorite meal.
